In Malaysia's 2008 General Election, how will the age of a candidate affect the voting?

I read that the oldest candidate to run is 89-year old independent candidate Maimun Yusof, who is contesting for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat. I also read that MCA's Carol Chew Chee Lin is 27, and the youngest female candidate to contest.
