I'm having trouble with tampons...?

I've had my period for 2 years now, but I still haven't used a tampon. I tried to last summer, but I couldn't get it! I almost fainted!! I am SOOO squeamish! I fainted when I got my tetnus shot, and when I got blood drawn. When I was trying to put the tampon in, I felt sick! Any suggestions on how to overcome this so I can wear a tampon???
