Please enjoy and critique this vignette.?

Everyone was cold. The whole company was cold sitting among the trees at the edge of the range. We were qualifying on the machine guns before going over. Sergeant Foss walked up and down the firing line yelling, “Six round bursts, six ****** rounds, in the chest!” We had to wait while everyone else shot until it was too dark to see anymore. Lieutenant Krauss walked through the trees talking to the different groups of men huddled together against the damp trying to stay warm. We were still stateside then and the lieutenant liked knowing how everyone was and he was able to joke with us without letting us forget he was a lieutenant. That was when I just wanted to go over there and get it started.
