Acne medication causing dry skin?

I have been prescribed by my physician Tretinoin Gel, SP 0.025% to use in the night before I go to bed, and in the morning to first use SFC Lotion and then DUAC Topical Gel over it, but it makes my skin dry. It looks like my skin is flaky or peeling immediately after I apply either of the two products. What should I do? Use lotion over it? (If I do use lotion in the morning after the SFC and Topical Gel the dry skin goes away but my face turns a little red) Thanks in advance, - Matt.
